It’s GRAFFITI Week!!!!!

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

The graffiti collaboration between Louis Vuitton’s Marc Jacobs and the late Stephen Sprouse is one of my favorite design moments ever. It was the first time I had ever been drawn to the Louis Vuitton monogram pattern, or to LV at all, for that matter. I had absolutely nothing that designer-y in my closet and would never have even dreamed that I could own something like that. Luckily (I must have a little fashion angel on my shoulder), I managed to obtain 2 pieces from that collection — used, but still fabulous and still 2 of my faves to this day. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get my hands on a neon Speedy until Feb 2nd, but for all you lucky SoHo shoppers, it’s only 2 days away! Who ever said graffiti was a bad thing?

Bright and Brilliant Monday

Pattern mixing and multilayering with vibrant colors hit the runways for spring as one of the freshest newest looks, but this London based designer, Duro Olowu, has been courageously & impressively mixing vibrant African prints and unlikely color combos since the start of 2004.  ”What else but a floaty, multibloom, ruffly wrap dress does equally well with boots, stilettos and flip-flops?”

OUT with the old, IN with the new

Out with the 08 undies, In with the 09 new undies!

Well, I don’t completely overhaul.  I really just update my ONE favorite, Eberjey.  These are the girly undies that cling to a woman’s curve - big AND small.  This famous fit is the same in all their different styles in all their different collections.

My top picks are every piece in the above Delirious collection.  Believe me, you’ll feel like that model above ;)

THEN I came across, thelakeandstars.com via Chicagopicks.com.

This flirty lingerie line is beyond just sexy, there is equal part fashion.   I quickly bookmarked this chic online site when I also discovered my favorite piece of outerwear as well….the trench.
