Spring in the city…..Spring is why we endure the snow, the ice, the wind, the sleet, the slush, the no parking, the WINTER!  Yes, all this for spring in the city…spring here feels like love is in the air.  

I couldn’t wait to look at spring again after all these weeks of fall shows.  I immediately started perusing S09 lookbooks and I’m falling for Lover.  What a great vibe…

So, it’s no secret that we love high fashion, but it is also no secret that we don’t live anywhere glamorous and we do not lead glamorous lives. That being said, there is a way to marry the two. My dear partner (I’m outing her here — her name is Arlene) just posted about the wearablility of Isabel Marant. Arlene is the most stylish person I know and — I am positive — would catch the eye of Scott Schuman no matter where or when he ran into her. Anyway, I just wanted to add to her previous sentiment by posting some of my favorite moments from Sonia Rykiel’s recent show. I may not be an original, but I know what I like and I’m not afraid to wear it!

Isabel Marant is what I call Real Life.  Do I love Stella McCartney’s sheer electric blue onesie…YES, but would I run my kids to soccer in it??  NO.  Enter…Isabel Marant.  Isabel Marant lays low on the radar when it comes to the glossy magazines, but she’s high on every francophile’s go-to list for solid casual pieces infused with some streetstyle and confidence.  She knows what’s going on….what feels better than walking down the street feeling great? Can’t wait for spring….

Marni for Fall09. There are truly no words to describe the beauty of this collection. Consuelo Castiglioni is a master at mixing patterns, silhouettes and textures, and this season is definitely one of her best. I find her to be a true original and an inspiration. Go, Signora Castiglioni!

Bravo!!!

Once again, despite the season, Betsey Johnson is colorful, optimistic and joyful (okay, skulls may not be that joyful, but it definitely takes the edge off when paired with tulle).  And to make matters even more exciting, she is collaborating with Opening Ceremony on some reissues of past  hits for Fall.  SO EXCITED!!!! We have our Opening Ceremony appointment on Friday and I will try to sneak some pix, but until then, enjoy some faves of mine from her Fall09 presentation.
