We’ve been obsessing over Martha Davis shoes since we first laid our eyes on them this past spring @ Steven Alan Showroom.  The modern clean aesthetic makes them such good wearable everyday fashion…and pretty timeless, if you ask me.   I know those booties and wedges would soon turn into go-to’s for me.  In the midwest with two kids in tow?  They’re perfect I tell you!!

This is what we call great everyday fashion.  A great shoe can update anything in your closet.

A beautiful day like today makes me think of some family fun, cubbie tickets and (shamelessly) my shoe wardrobe (true, but at least I realize addictions!)  The change of seasons makes me daydream of styles I haven’t had on my tootsie’s for months!  I’m aching for some new platforms and sandals…..like these

Shoes are really my (our) thing.  Case-in-point:  I’ve been asked numerous times how many pairs I own…really don’t know (I DO circulate through them though) and Brandon, well…she has WALLS of shoes. but DAMN this Prada shoe irresistible!

and I most likely will be adding the blue Gap version of this Pierre Hardy shoe….

and believe it or not, you should own this little mocassin by Chloe.  They resurrect this shoe almost every other season for a reason!!  

Aside from Kermit the Frog, who says it isn’t easy being green?

It’s funny that we never talk about shoes because they are truly an all-consuming obsession with us. A beautiful shoe is like a work of art. The first pair of designer shoes I bought were a pair of Christian Louboutins from his trash series. They’re mules and I can’t wear them, but I will happily put them in a lucite box and hang them on my wall. A designer that we’ve been watching lately is Brit Nicholas Kirkwood. While his pieces appear to be art first and footwear second, he is a master of construction. Regardless of that infamous fall at Rodarte, I contend that his shoes are sturdy, wearable, and utterly fabulous.
