Pre-Fall 2012: Seeing Red

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

I’ve been diligently attempting to catch up on the Pre-Fall collections and I have happily come across one of my favorite trends: RED!

Actually, I should say one of our favorites. Someone recently asked Arlene and me separately what our favorite color was and we both said red. Don’t look so surprised. We’re dressed alike more often than not.

All I want for Christmas is… Shoes

Monday, November 28th, 2011

I spent a good portion of my weekend oohing and ahhing over sale shoes. It is that time of year, after all. I’m off to NYC this coming weekend, so I’m having to restrain myself (which is not one of my strong points), but here’s just a few that I wouldn’t mind seeing under my Christmas tree.

{If I had to pick just one, it would undoubtedly be #1, the Isabel Marant zebra print suede pumps. L O V E.}

I may have to bite on those Isabel Marant ones…

1. Isabel Marant Gatsy zebra-print suede pumps

2. Margiela wool-covered leather ankle boots

3. Jil Sander mesh oxford pump

4. Chloe two-tone Elaphe pumps

5. Robert Clergerie Olympy wedge

6. Miu Miu oxford wedges

7. Thimister platform wedge

8. Marni patent leather and suede wood platforms

9. Rag & Bone Odval desert wedge

10. Surface To Air lace-up suede wedge

11. Proenza Schouler lattice wedge

March 5, 2010. A very important date.

Alice in Wonderland fans will know I’m talking about the release of Tim Burton’s take on the classic Carroll story. A while back, I posted about Alice and was eagerly anticipating the unveiling of exclusive Alice designs for Printemps in Paris. Somehow, I completely forgot about it until I started thinking about who I could get to go to see the movie with me tonight. Surprise, surprise, they’ve been up for over 2 weeks now!!! In case you haven’t seen them, here’s a glimpse.

First, Alexander McQueen. {I have been struggling with what to say about his passing. I just adored him and what he brought to the world of fashion and am so, so sad that he is gone. The world of fashion won’t be the same without him.}

I Want These God-Damn-It

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Shoes are really my (our) thing.  Case-in-point:  I’ve been asked numerous times how many pairs I own…really don’t know (I DO circulate through them though) and Brandon, well…she has WALLS of shoes. but DAMN this Prada shoe irresistible!

and I most likely will be adding the blue Gap version of this Pierre Hardy shoe….

and believe it or not, you should own this little mocassin by Chloe.  They resurrect this shoe almost every other season for a reason!!
